Welcome to Day 5 of the 7 Day Challenge

Make sure to read everything below before starting your meditation. Enjoy!

The Disease

When we are born into this world, we come here with a blank slate and know nothing about the world around us or about ourselves.  If you look at a child, before they are taught rules by their parents, you will see them living in the moment and in love with life itself.

As we grow up, we are taught what is right and wrong, how we should behave, and what we need to do to be “successful”.  Everyone around us seems to be behaving in a similar fashion and we accept everything our parents tell us as absolute truth, so we just follow the status quo and do what everyone else does.  Even though we know in our hearts that some of it seems a bit off, we just accept it because it’s what were taught by those we trust.  So, we work hard to get a good education, earn a college degree, get a good paying job, a big house, and everything this material world has to offer.

Breaking Free

In rare events, we see rule breakers that question the status quo and break out of the bounds created by their culture.  These are people like Martin Luther King Jr, Tony Robbins, Elon Musk, Charles Mulli, etc. who go on to live extraordinary lives.

Although not everything that cultures have adopted is harmful, there are many things that are passed down from generation to generation with little questioning as to “why” things are done a certain way.  The reality is, at some point someone in power created a rule that would benefit them.  Some rules were created with our best intention in mind, but many that we follow today are simply not in our best interest.  I am not speaking of breaking the law here, but rather questioning the way most live to determine if that is the course we want to take.

One example of this would be questioning whether college is the right path for us.  We are told from the time we are children that we must earn a college degree if we want to be successful.  Although college is a great opportunity for those wishing to pursue specific careers, it is simply not for everyone.  If we follow what everyone else tells us we should do with our lives and we don’t follow our hearts, we can very easily end up like the majority of the world, where we go to a job everyday that we hate and for the most part live unfulfilling and purposeless lives.

If we want to break free from the disease that has plagued most cultures around the world, we must start by questioning the status quo.  Regardless of your age or where you are at in life, you have the power to slow the spread of the disease and ensure it does not affect your children.  You have the power to break free yourself and create your own rules of how you want your life to go.

Discovering The Gift

If you are looking to live a life of purpose, discovering your unique gifts is absolutely crucial.  Without knowing what your gifts are, you will never truly be able to bless others or live the fulfilling life you were created to live.

As you begin your quest, you may already know full well what your gifts are.  Maybe you had a strong passion to do something when you were a child but as the pressures of life came weighing you down, you decided to take the route that felt safer and follow what your peers were doing.  Perhaps you are currently using your gifts to bless the world right now.

Although some of us have known our gifts since we were children, many of us go anywhere up to a lifetime without ever discovering ours.  We ended up following someone else’s dream or taking the safer route our parents pushed us into and never took the time to figure out what truly makes us happy and gives us purpose.

Whatever the situation, discovering our gifts is an intimate and personal experience that only we can do for ourselves.  Although others can help us by pointing out our talents, only we can discover our true gifts and potential.

We are all blessed with certain talents and abilities that make us unique and give us the greatest joy.  God created us to discover those gifts and to offer them to the world to give back, which will in turn give us more joy than anything this world has to offer.  When you are searching for your gift, make sure you are open not only to the gift but how you can use your gift to bless others.  When we discover our gifts as well as how to offer them to the world, we are on our way to living extraordinary lives of purpose.

Preparing For The Meditation

This meditation is designed to tap into the deep part of ourselves that may have been covered up for years.  This is the part of us that makes us feel alive and gives us a deep sense of purpose.

In order to do this, we must first clear our minds of all limiting beliefs that have been holding us back from reaching our true potential.  These beliefs may have been embedded in your subconscious for some time now, so don’t be surprised if you experience some kickback.  However, it is very important that we clear these limiting beliefs and start with a clean palate so we can make room for new empowering beliefs.

Note: If you have never watched the movie “Discover The Gift”, I would highly recommend watching it.  Continue with this meditation, but if you get the chance, watch this movie and then do this meditation again.

The Meditation

Start as you normally would breathing in and out slowly and relaxing your body and mind.  From here we are going to begin asking the following questions:

“What are my gifts?”

“Am I currently using my gifts?”

“How can I offer my gifts to bless others?”

As you begin asking these questions, allow space for God/your inner voice to guide you.  If you ask these questions with sincerity and you are open to whatever transpires, you will receive an answer.  Although it may take more time than the next 15 minutes to uncover this, if you are diligent and open you will without a doubt be shown the truth.

Scriptures
